So I am experimenting with baking sourdough bread, and of course I have been having some bread that hasn’t turned out that great . That is why I decided to make sourdough croutons! Which is a great way to use up leftover sourdough bread, or maybe just bread that didn’t turn out great!
Here’s a simple recipe to create delicious, crispy croutons.
Ingredients
sourdough bread, cut into cubes
1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
1 teaspoon dried herbs (such as thyme, oregano, or rosemary, again optional)
Salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste

Instructions:
Preheat the Oven to 375°F (190°C)
Prepare the Bread:
Cut the sourdough bread into small cubes. If the bread is fresh, you can let the cubes sit out for a bit to dry. Slightly stale bread works best for croutons.
Season the Croutons:
I use the tray from the oven with a parchment paper to bake the croutons.
Add the cut bread cubes and toss until they are evenly coated in a way that they aren’t on top of each other so that they can bake nicely, without having to mix them mid way when baking. Add your seasoning and drizzle the oil.
Bake the Croutons:
Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy( it all depends on your own oven). Unfortunately mine is not the best…
Cool and Store:
Once baked, remove the croutons from the oven and let them cool. They will continue to crisp up as they cool down. Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.
My Tips to you:
These croutons are perfect for adding to salads, soups, or simply enjoying as a snack! My toddler loves them…
Enjoy your homemade sourdough croutons!
